Recently I’ve been watching a number of Ali Abdaal’s videos, and reading content from Nathan Barry and Noah Kagan. These individuals not only built thriving online businesses but also cultivated loyal followings.

One common thread I’ve noticed among them? They all emphasise the importance of building in public.

What Is Building in Public?

Building in public is a strategic approach where founders, entrepreneurs, and creators openly share their entrepreneurial journey. It’s about lifting the curtain on the process of creating a company or product. Whether through writing, videos, or podcasts, it’s all about transparency.

Here’s what I’ve learned about why it matters:

  1. Transparency and Trust: By sharing both victories and challenges, you build trust and authenticity with your audience. People appreciate honesty and vulnerability. When you’re transparent, your audience feels like they’re part of your journey, not just passive observers.
